Gen Z TV
Published: 1st August 2024
It’s a bit of a stereotype that Gen Z don’t watch TV, but Ofcom’s latest report confirms the fact beyond any doubt.
Published this week, the regulator’s report indicates that less than half of 16- to 24-year-olds tune into broadcast TV, preferring to get their viewing fix from streaming services and on-demand platforms, like YouTube, iPlayer and Netflix.
What’s this got to do with property management and facilities management?
Quite a lot actually.
You see, for media to survive, it needs to adapt to meet the changing needs and preferences of the market.
The traditional broadcasters have known the way the wind’s blowing for a long time, which is why they’ve put time, effort and money into creating the on-demand platforms they have, catching the younger audience who consume media in a different way.
Standing still hasn’t been, and never has been an option.
It’s exactly the same in our world.
We’ve been around for 119 years, with the Barnsdale family running the business for all of that time.
The reason we’ve survived?
Our ability to change, evolve, grow and adapt to provide a service that our customers really value, year in, year out.
That means constantly improving things as (and before) the market requires it, ironing out all those little things that people don’t like about dealing with property and facilities management companies, and going above and beyond to reach new organisations who need our services.
We might not be a media company, but we understand the power of movement, and we’ll never stop moving.
