New estate agency opens as established property firms launch joint venture

Two of South Yorkshire’s leading property firms have joined forces to launch Bridge Property Sales, a new estate agency operating in the Dearne Valley from offices in Swinton.
The new business combines the skills of Swinton-based Bridge Property Management and Barnsdales of Doncaster, with each company contributing a wealth of property experience to the partnership.
Giles Brearley, Managing Director of Bridge Property Management, said: “The launch of Bridge Property Sales is something we have been planning for some two years. We are well established in property and we have felt for some time that there is an opportunity in the market for a new company offering a local and personal sales service.”
Bridge Property Management has been a regional leader in property lettings since it was launched over 30 years ago and has unrivalled knowledge of the Dearne Valley property market. Barnsdales Living is the residential arm of Barnsdales chartered surveyors and property consultants, who bring additional skills and experience with their long history of selling property.
The new business will bring together highly experienced staff from both companies and will operate from the newly-refurbished offices at 45–46 Bridge Street, Swinton, which are shared with Bridge Property Management. It will combine the traditional approach to property, developed from its wide network of contacts, with investment in computer marketing technology to give properties maximum exposure.
Giles added: “Through the new agency we will now be able to offer our landlords a sales service as well as management of their portfolios. We are determined to offer a dedicated local sales service, helping clients secure the best return for a property.
“Our aim is to take a very competitive approach on selling charges, backed up by an unrivalled traditional service. Your house is probably your most valuable asset and its sale deserves expert handling.
“There is greater demand for accommodation than supply at the moment, especially given the reduction in rental opportunities. Demand is strong in all sectors and we will meet that by offering a premier service, with proper hands-on contact and straight talking. Entry into a monthly property auction is also available where a swift, no-hassle deal is required.”
Peter Rothery, who heads up Barnsdales Living from its office in Doncaster, said: “This new joint venture is an exciting prospect for us. We are bringing the benefit of our long experience of property sales and surveying services and joining a long-established Dearne Valley property agent. By working together, we are confident we can generate interest in all areas. We already have some sales instructions and we are raring to go.”
