Barnsdales broadens property management portfolio with luxury waterside retreat

Published: 29th October 2021

Barnsdales has been appointed as the new managing agent of Waters Edge - a collection of luxury waterside holiday homes based in the Cotswolds.

The 27-home development of three and four-bedroom properties near Cerney Wick is set around the 28-acre Lake 10 in the Cotswold Water Park; England’s largest wetlands nature reserve.

Our appointment is due to a successful tender bid and comes on the back of several high-profile local appointments for us, further strengthening our presence throughout the region. The resort will be managed locally from our Cirencester office by residential block manager, Louise Ballinger.

Louise said: “This is a fantastic moment for Barnsdales and I’m delighted that we’ve been chosen as the property managers of this distinguished development. We’ll be responsible for the communal areas of Waters Edge, bringing our friendly and professional service to this luxury waterside resort.

“We don’t foresee any challenges in terms of maintenance or management, so our initial focus will be on ensuring that we build trust among residents and visitors. I’m confident that with our ethos and expertise, we can add value to this remarkable retreat.”

Situated among 180 lakes spread across 42 square miles, the five-star rated cottages benefit from a range of amenities, including a decking area which creates the illusion of being suspended over the water’s edge. There are a further 15 plots up for sale which would bring the total number of lodges on the site to 42, consisting of an eclectic mixture of traditional and cutting-edge contemporary builds.

Louise joined the team in May of this year with eight years experience in the field from one of the UK’s largest residential property management firms.

Barnsdales established our office in Cirencester in 2018 with the acquisition of David Allberry & Company, a property consultancy practice which began in 1979. Since then, the consultancy has grown, managing a wide range of properties across the region and enabling clients to access the dedicated support of the Cirencester team as well as the services and expertise of the wider Barnsdales Group.

Jason Barnsdale, Managing Director of Barnsdales, added:

“This is another impressive instruction for Barnsdales and a great example of how we’re expanding our presence in the region. Our Cirencester office has been growing well over the past couple of years, and that’s all down to the hard work and experience of the team on the ground - and now, on the water’s edge!”
