Work, Play, Live at New Era Square

Published: 12th April 2024

You might be familiar with New Era Square – back when it was being developed it made the national press, dubbed Sheffield’s “Times Square”.

And for good reason, it was an ambitious project, combining office space, student accommodation and leisure and retail into one multi-use destination.

Work, play, live; all in one.

I’m proud to say we’ve been involved with New Era Square since before it even opened, and we’re still relied upon to provide facilities management, property management consultancy and health and safety consultancy for the developer on a contract basis.

This particular project highlights one of the things that makes Barnsdales fairly unique – we’re extremely comfortable dealing with multi-use sites.

Generally speaking, when it comes to facilities and property management, you’ll get a residential specialist, or an organisation that focuses on commercial.

And sometimes you might get a business that’s a bit of a jack of all trades – able to turn their hand to both, but without the expertise and experience to do the job you need them to do.

At Barnsdales we’re masters of all property-related disciplines – we’ve been managing multi-use sites for decades, and we’re working with them on a daily basis.

And because our residential and commercial teams sit in the same building here at HQ, rather than operating in silos, there’s connection and cohesion between the two, which means things don’t get missed or lost in translation in the way they can do if you’re engaging two different facilities management companies.

If you’re responsible for a site, whether it’s residential, commercial or multi-use, and you’d like to get a second opinion on your facilities and property management, we’d be happy to help – just reply to this email and we’ll work out a good time to talk.
