Jason is the Managing Director of the Barnsdales Group which includes: Barnsdales Valuations, Barnsdales FM, Barnsdales Living and Barnsdales as well as other companies. He is also a Director or shareholder of 16 other companies. He is a Chartered Surveyor and an RICS Registered Valuer and focuses on commercial property investment sales & acquisitions, asset management and development.

He joined Barnsdales at the end of 2007 as an Equity Partner taking over from his father, (becoming the fourth generation of the Barnsdales family to run the business) he became Managing Director in 2010 after acquiring a controlling stake in the business. Prior to this Jason had 7 very successful years at Warner Estate Holdings PLC (a FTSE 250 listed company) in London where he was Head of Retail where he ran a £900m shopping centre fund (Agora and Agora Max) in a joint venture with Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBoS) delivering superior returns. He reported directly to the main PLC Board. He was responsible for over £1bn of property sales and acquisitions over a 5 year period. Jason was also involved with other funds including the wholly owned assets of the PLC and was responsible for the £120m corporate acquisition of J S Real Estate PLC.

Prior to joining Warner Estate Jason was at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in London and Manchester; he jointly set up the JLL Manchester shopping centre team (where he was based for 3 years), prior to this Jason worked in London for JLL and Walker Son & Packman in the West End and before that he worked at Donaldsons in Leeds.

He has over 30 years of property experience, he has an exceptional property knowledge and incredible market contacts at the highest level within the property industry throughout the whole of the UK. He has advised many of the UK’s leading property companies, developers and institutions.

Over the last few years Jason has focused on investment sales, acquisitions and developments and asset management, advising national investors, developers and occupiers. He has also acquired numerous large vacant offices throughout the UK which have subsequently been converted to apartments.

Jason is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Barnsdales Group and major share holder. He is often referred to as 'Mr Doncaster' by many property experts in London and beyond.

He is also a Non Executive Director of London based property investment and asset management business Fabrik Property Group.

For several years Jason was also a Senior Adviser to Charles Irivine, a London based boutique advisor specialising in real estate investment and financing.

He acts as a trusted adviser to Alphasights and the Gerson Lehrman Group Inc in New York and London providing bespoke consultancy advice on the UK Real Estate market to their international network of clients.

Jason has his own family property investment company with interests in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Gloucestershire, Staffordshire and Jersey.

Jason is a past founding Northern Board member and Committee Member of Revo, a former Fellow of the Land Institute, a Member of the Investment Property Forum (IPF) and a Member of Property Mark (MARLA).

He was appointed a Governor and Woodard Corporate Fellow at Worksop College & Ranby House in Nottinghamshire (two leading independent boarding schools) in September 2018 and was appointed Vice Custos (Vice Chair) in 2020 and Custos (Chair) in September 2022.

Jason was given the Freedom of the City of London on 17th January 2020 and was admitted to the Livery of The Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors of the City of London on the 21st January 2020. He also previously sat on the Charity Committee of The Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors.

During his career he has let and managed some of the most prime and high profile London properties in Mayfair, St Johns Wood, St James’s, the City of London, Soho, Marylebone, Islington and Hammersmith.

He splits his time between the Doncaster, London and Lincoln offices; aiming to be in each one at least a few days each month. He lives in Nottinghamshire and outside of work Jason enjoys tinkering with his vintage and classic cars and outdoor pursuits.
