From toilet seat to lightbulb

Published: 24th April 2024

We’re in conversations with several prospective clients at the moment, all with the same problem:

They’re in charge of the facilities management for their own building, and right now it’s taking them way more time, attention, energy and budget than they’d like.

The simple reason why?

Multiple suppliers from multiple companies to deal with multiple issues.

Which means a huge amount of admin to keep on top of it all – remembering who does what, calling out the right person, paying multiple invoices, the list goes on and on.

For a decent size building, facilities management can take several hours a week, and yet the organisations we’re speaking to are currently trying to do it in house, giving the tasks to someone else who’s also got another job to do.

Which is why they’re talking to us, since facilities management is our bread and butter, and we can alleviate all the issues associated with doing it yourself and give you:

#1 One point of contact – rather than having multiple suppliers and trying to remember who does what, you just call us, and we sort it.

#2 Full range of services – whether you need a new toilet seat or a lightbulb’s gone, it doesn’t matter, we’ll fix it, so you don’t need to scour the internet looking for new suppliers.

#3 24/7 helpdesk – we work around the clock, so rather than your office manager having to be awake in the middle of the night or heading to work at the weekend because there’s an issue, we take care of it.

#4 Compliance – a competent office manager is likely to be capable of calling out a plumber if there’s an issue, but what about compliance?  Our facilities management team takes care of all the regular stuff and makes sure your premises is fully compliant, inspecting fire doors, emergency lighting, PAT testing and so on.

#5 Consistency – rather than having a different person turn up every time, you’ll get the same specialists, which means less time wasted explaining things again and again.

#6 Security – security is a concern for all of us, and the more contractors you have on site, the more risk you take on.  When you use Barnsdales, your contractors are all under our umbrella.  They wear branded uniforms, they drive branded vans, and they’re fully accountable.

(You can still use your favourite contractor though – just let us know who they are and we’ll talk about how they can work under us)
